We've curated the perfect colour schemes to show you how to set the mood in your home this winter. Using a range of gentle, earth-based neutrals, get your inspiration from our Restore palette from the Dulux Colour Forecast 2022. Colours featured Natural Flora and Hog Bristle® Half.
Creating comfort in the cooler months
Comfort is the priority when it comes to decorating our homes in winter. We look to surround ourselves with cosy and cocooning pieces that will help us relax.
We've decorated 3 beautiful spaces to inspire you this winter including an entryway, living area and toddler's bedroom.
These colours don't demand attention but soothe our senses. Furniture is chunky and comforting, accessorised with simple handmade and crafted décor pieces in interesting, and often imperfect, shapes.
A bold entrance
We started with a lighter colour from the Restore palette to provide a natural base for the walls. Dulux Tranquil Retreat is a soft neutral grey that works well in a wide range of different spaces.
We then used the deep blue of Dulux Ferry to draw your eye to the ceiling beams and create a dramatic and welcoming entrance.
Adding deeper and richer colours such as charcoal, navy or green can add a whole new level of depth and interest to a space.
Contemporary living
This modernist home has high ceilings and curved entrances making it ideal for sophisticated feature colour.
The mix of dramatic deep green Dulux Finnegan and a feature pendant adds an edge and creates a focal point for the room.
The addition of a rug breaks up the floor space for a cosy yet spacious look and feel.
Cosy corners
Create your favourite place to relax with warm tones such as Dulux New Penny.
Adding a thick pile rug to the already carpeted floor adds layers and softness to feel right at home.
Combined with the warmth of Dulux Hog Bristle® Half we created a cosy and inviting space for winter.
An inspiring toddler's room
To create a soothing space, the toddler’s room was completely transformed with Dulux Natural Flora as the feature colour. We paired it with Dulux Hog Bristle® Half, a warm white to help soften the space.
If you're not into greens, you can change it up with an earth-based warm, reddish-tan such as Dulux New Penny.
Styling a toddler's bedroom
Incorporate pale timber, woven cane and natural fabrics such as linen, cotton and wool to add texture and colour for more depth.
