Acrylic Sealer Undercoat With Ultrasmooth™

Dulux Acrylic Sealer Undercoat is a low VOC and low odour premium acrylic sealer and undercoat for interior use. 

DuluxAcrylic Sealer Undercoat’s unique Ultrasmooth™ Technology helps to eliminate the traditional problems of surface imperfections, as its high build helps hide minor cracks and defects.

Previously painted surfaces:

• Thoroughly clean all surfaces free of loose dust, surface chalk, grease, mould, mildew, wax and loose or flaking paint. 

• Wash with sugar soap. 

• Treat mould-contaminated areas with anti-mould. 

• Rinse with clean water. 

• Fill nail holes, imperfections and cracks with a suitable filler, sand and dust off. 

Paper faced plasterboard and masonry: 

• On bare set plaster, use one coat of Dulux PRECISION® Sealer Binder.

• Stir well before use with a broad flat paddle using an up and down scooping action. 

• Apply one coat of Dulux Prepcoat Acrylic Sealer Undercoat. 

• For paper-faced plasterboard, where there is different textures between paper and joining compound, or where extra filling and smoothness are required, apply a second coat. 

• Over rougher textures such as Dulux Design Suede, sand the existing paint surface before applying Dulux Prepcoat Acrylic Sealer Undercoat. 

• Once this coating is completely dry, lightly sand the surface. 

• If the surface imperfections are very prominent, or where extra smoothness and filling are required, apply a second coat. 

Thinning: 

Not normally required. Excessive thinning will negatively impact on the filling properties. Under hot conditions or on porous surfaces, application may be eased by thinning with up to 50ml of water per litre. 

Tinting: 

Can be tinted up to half strength of pastel colours.

Do not pour leftover paint down the drain. 

Unwanted paint should be brushed out on newspaper and allowed to dry, and then disposed of via domestic waste collections.

Leave empty paint containers open in a well-ventilated area to dry out. When dry, recycle the container via steel can recycling programs.

Disposal of empty paint containers via domestic recycling programs may differ between local authorities. Check with your local council first. 

Do not reuse container unless thoroughly decontaminated.
