Before spraying: Shake can for at least 2 minutes or until the mixing ball rattles inside the can. For best results, avoid spraying in low temperatures (less than 15°C) or high humidity.
Application: Hold the can upright approximately 20–25cm from the surface. To ensure compatibility, test spray on an inconspicuous area. Use smooth, even strokes parallel to the surface. Apply several light mist coats rather than 1 heavy coat to avoid runs and sags. Allow 1 minute drying between coats. While it can be directly topcoated, for best long-term results, applying Dulux® AutoShield™ Primer Surfacer before topcoating. Dulux® AutoShield™ Topcoat can be applied after 3 hours.
After spraying: Prevent nozzle blocking by turning the can upside down and spraying until clear gas emerges. Wipe the front of nozzle clean. Clean up any overspray while it is still wet using general purpose thinner.
Recoating: When a second coat of Dulux® AutoShield™ Rust Converter is required, re-coat after 3 hours.
