Bringing Sophie's vision to life
The latest Three Birds Renovations project wasn’t just a renovation, but an entire home built from scratch. Erin, Bonnie and Lana went to work to transform Sophie’s Northern NSW block into her Mediterranean-style family farmhouse dream. The result? Angular modern lines softened by organic archways and circular shapes, wide open spaces perfect for entertaining, and clean, crisp white walls accentuated by brassy details — all set against a breathtaking rainforest backdrop.
Inside the modern-day farmhouse
It’s all about bright whites, careful pops of colour and minimalism with maximum impact in The Hinterland Hideaway. Browse through the finished home to see what makes this an entertainer’s dream.
The adults’ escape
Open spaces play a big part in this house, so it’s no surprise that the master bedroom, ensuite and terrace all flow into each other, meaning Sophie and her husband can feel like they’re on holidays in the comfort of their own home.
This adult oasis boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that welcome an abundance of natural light. Muted pink details feature in the Mediterranean wall art, the open plan ensuite tiles and the bed linen to soften hard surfaces.
To encourage the feeling of being on holiday at home, Three Birds Renovations have chosen patterned tiles, golds, whites and steel that contrast beautifully against the rainforest views.
How to achieve the look
“It’s just those details that [give] this very white house personality.” — Bonnie
Personality and practicality
For the kitchen, Three Birds Renovations opted for a chalky, earthy organic feel through the use of materials such as concrete. Rounded brassy details add life to the all white surrounds.
An entertainer’s delight
In the open plan living area, rustic, warm tones come through in the floorboards, while the light, bright, beautiful Dulux White on White illuminates the walls. The textured ceiling adds character to an otherwise simple space.
Explore the stunning space
Take a look inside Erin, Bonnie and Lana’s first project that wasn’t just an incredible renovation, but a completely new build from the ground up.
“[The] whole house has this softness and a curve to it...then the pavilion is as square as can be but it looks so good. You can do square and curved together.” — Bonnie
