We've teamed up with not-for-profit organisation, Smiling Mind, to help create mindful spaces in Australian primary schools. Together, we encourage schools to create colourful spaces in classrooms, reading nooks, libraries and outside to support good mental health and foster awareness, curiosity and connection. Colours featured: Lexicon® Half (wall) and Turquoise Green (boxes).
Dulux colour experts, Smiling Mind psychologists and wellbeing educators have worked together to develop the Smiling Mind Toolkit to help school communities imagine and create healthier places to live, play, work and learn. Since launching in 2012, Smiling Mind has helped more than 6.1 million people happier and healthier through the practice of mindfulness meditation.
The toolkit has colour palettes and decorating ideas from Dulux colour experts and tips on incorporating mindfulness at school from Smiling Mind’s psychologists. The toolkit features themes on awareness, the senses, a curious mind, gratitude, and resilience to help create a mindful space.
This primary school library in the heart of Melbourne was transformed into a place for more than reading for its students and educators.
The space supports activities such as music group, journaling and colouring, wellbeing sessions and meditation to improve the mental health of their students, educators and parents.
For a crisp, modern look Lexicon® Half is a perfect clean white suitable for trims or main walls for both inside and out. It is a great white for highlighting exterior features or if you're looking for a bright white for walls. Lexicon® Half pairs well with neutrals, cool greys and charcoals such as Candle Bark, Colorbond® Woodland Grey®, Dieskau, Highgate, Miller Mood, Milton Moon, Oolong, Silkwort, Stepney and Terrace White.
Colours displayed should be used as a guide for your colour selection. To ensure best accuracy, test your colour choice at home by ordering Dulux sample pots, stickers and A4 colour swatches.
