Lennox Head SLC
When John Beasley OAM, the Secretary of Lennox Head Surf Life Saving Club tried to lend a hand to paint the club, he couldn’t get his hands on a paint brush. Members from the club and local community had already picked them all up and started painting.
We supplied the club with 100 litres of paint and an army of dedicated volunteers did the rest. People who have been club members for decades right through to current nippers helped cover the weather-worn blue timber walls with a warm yellow colour. The exposed timber poles were painted a cool, greyed-off blue. The new colour scheme echoes sand and sea; fitting, really.
The walls of Lennox Head have weathered over the years; a tornado hit the town in 2010 and being so close to Queensland they’re often exposed to the lingering effects of cyclones. The paint we supplied will give the walls the protection they need against this extreme weather.
Lennox Head SLSC members play a huge role in the local community. They don’t stick to monitoring between the flags, they can also often be found performing rescues in the nearby lake and helping with emergencies around town. The community spirit of Lennox Head SLSC couldn’t be stronger. This spirit shines through in the video below.
