Surface Preparation

Protect any adjoining areas that you do not wish to strip. Apply a thick coat by broad synthetic bristle brush. Do not exceed coverage rates. Allow 15-30 minutes to penetrate and wrinkle or blister the coating. Times will vary depending on the type of finish and thickness of the coating to be removed. For best results cover with a plastic dropsheet to stop Liquid 8 from drying out. Test with a scraper to ensure that the paint is easily removed. Remove using a paint scraper or if appropriate a high pressure water cleaner. On timber surfaces, work in the direction of the grain. On curved or rough surfaces or mouldings use a synthetic hard bristle brush or scourer. Do not allow Liquid 8 to dry on the surface. For best results work in small areas at a time. Thick or stubborn coatings may require more than one application. Clean stripped surfaces thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Sand as necessary to remove any residue before refinishing the surface.

Use and typical specification

Intergrain Liquid 8 is a fast acting, easy to use, water soluble gel timber finish and paint remover. Liquid 8's low odour and non-drip, citrus based gel formula allows for a safe and easy application on all horizontal and vertical surfaces. With excellent softening and penetration, it quickly and effectively removes most water and solvent based coatings. Liquid 8 is gentle on the surface and will not darken timber like some traditional strippers.
