Luxaprime® Zinc Phosphate is a single pack zinc phosphate primer offering good corrosion protection over power tool cleaned steel. The high build formulation allows higher film builds in fewer coats.

Performance Guide

WeatherabilitySome chalking will occur on exterior exposure if not topcoated. This will not detract from the protective properties of the coating.
Heat ResistanceUp to 120°C dry heat.
Water ResistanceResists condensation and rain. Not suitable for permanently damp conditions or immersion.
Abrasion ResistanceGood abrasion resistance when fully cured.
Solvent ResistanceWithstands intermittent splash and spillage of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons.
Acid ResistanceNot recommended where fumes, splash or spillage may occur.
Alkaline ResistanceNot recommended where fumes, splash or spillage may occur
Salt ResistanceExcellent resistance to splash ans spillage of neutral salt solutions.

Roller, Brush, Airspray, Conventional Spray

Surface Preparation

Round off all rough welds and sharp edges, and remove weld spatter. Degrease by detergent wash according to AS1627.1. For all structural and decorative steel, abrasive blast clean to AS1627.4 Class 2.5. Remove all dust. Apply first coat before surface deterioration occurs.

Uses

Luxaprime® Zinc Phosphate is typically used as a primer under suitable topcoats on cranes, tanks and roofs,and as a primer/finish in internal steelwork in warehouses and factories.
