Surface Preparation

PRE-PAINTED SURFACES: Scrape off all loose and flaking paint. Sand all surfaces to a flat finish. Dust off. If previously painted surface is in good condition then no primer is necessary. BARE STEEL/WROUGHT IRON: Wipe surface with mineral turps to remove residual rust, grease, oil and dirt. Allow to dry. Treat rust with Dulux Quit Rust Rust Remover followed by application of Dulux Quit Rust All Metal Primer. Note: For highly corrosive environments (within 2km of the coast) apply a base layer of Dulux Quit Rust Cold Galv primer. GALVANISED IRON/ZINCALUME®: Apply Dulux Quit Rust All Metal Primer as per can directions. Aluminium, Copper, Brass & Stainless Steel Apply Dulux Quit Rust Etch Primer as per can directions.
