My Project Help
Here are some simple explanations and tips on how to get the
most out of your My Project tool.
My Project overview
My Project is
a tool we created to help you with any painting job you may have.
It is designed to prompt you through the painting process.
We start with inspiration and then help work out the colours,
type of paint, how much paint and even where to buy it.
This works only in the consumer section of the website, and is
not linked to the Specifier or Applicator sections.
Items you can add to My Project:
- Single colours
- Colour schemes and collections (containing 3 colours)
- My Colour visualised result (as an image)
- Products from their product detail page
- Paint calculation results
- Retailers from Find a retailer search results
- Items from your Scrapbook can be brought into My Project,
except images and videos.
How to add items to My Project
Hold your mouse over any item with a dotted line around it, you
will notice that your cursor will change from an arrow to a hand,
this means you can click and drag.

Note: the image above is not able to be dragged, this is a
visual example only.
Left click and hold your mouse on the item and drag it to the My
Project dock. The dock will pop up to remind you where you need to
drag it to.
The My Project Dock, and how to add items
The My Project tool sits at the bottom left of the
website.

The dock of My Project often pops up to remind you that it's
there. When you are on pages around the Consumer section of
dulux.com.au, you can click, drag and drop any items to the dock
that have a dotted line around them.
Save your Projects
When you start a project it will automatically save your
actions, but only for that browsing session. If you leave
dulux.com.au or close your browser you may lose your project. If
you click 'new project' it will wipe that Project and start
over.
The best way to ensure you don't lose any projects is to register as a
user, or if you are already a registered user be sure to log in. That way
you can come back and view any project again, or start a new
project and not lose the current project.
To register as a dulux.com.au member and enjoy the benefits of
My Project, visit the registration page.
My Scrapbook
You can add any elements to My Scrapbook as inspiration and
reference, as long as they have the dotted line around them. This
includes colours, images, products and videos from our website.
You can print your Scrapbook and email it to a friend. By
clicking 'Empty' in the Scrapbook, you will remove all of its
contents.
How to add colours to My Project and My Scrapbook
Simply go to the Colour Wall, click on any colour, and go
through to that colour swatch. This colour swatch will have a
dotted line around it, so you can click and drag into My Project.
It will also display a colour scheme and you can also drag this
into My Project.
Or go to the Colour Gallery, grab a scheme you like
and drag it to the dock.
How to use MyColour
Use MyColour by
going to the 'Visualise My Colours' section of My Project and
clicking the 'Visualise Your Project' button. Or you can visit the
MyColour page and
click the 'Launch MyColour' button. It will take you to the tool.
You may have to wait a few minutes for the Java file to open.
The five main steps are:
- Uploading an image. You can upload an image of your own, or
pick from a Dulux range.
- Choosing colours. You can pick from the entire Colour Wall.
Change, update and look at complementary schemes.
- Selecting your tool. You can pick from a range of ways to
colour the walls and surfaces. From easy paint masks through to
more detailed options.
- Saving the visualized image back to My Project. You can choose
to either: Save the image to My Project, or go back to
dulux.com.au.
If you need detailed help working out how to use this tool, then
simply click on the Tutorial button from the MyColour tool. There
are 10 tutorials to help guide you through all the
possibilities:

How to select Products for My Project
Simply browse our range of products or use the Product
Selector. If you find one that you want to add to My Project,
simply go to the product's detail page then click, drag and drop
the product image which will have a dotted line around it, into the
dock.
How to use Paint Calculator with My Project
By using the Paint Calculator, you can calculate an
approximate guide of how much is needed for your paint project in
two ways:
- You can use our interior and exterior guides based on the job
type. They are already pre-populated for you and give you an idea
of the quantiy of paint you would need.
- You can enter your room dimensions into the
calculator.
You can click, drag and drop the result to your project in the
My Project dock.
It will tell you approximately how many litres you will need for
the whole job - walls and trims, and it tells you the rough % split
between paint types needed. It doesn't include ceilings or roofs.
It will tell you per room/job only. Be sure to read the disclaimer
under your paint calculation result for more information.
How to search for your closest Dulux retailer
Visit the Find a retailer page , enter your
postcode into the text box and press 'Enter' on your keyboard or
hit the blue button.
This will provide you with a list of the retailers nearest to
you, as well as mapping them out on a map. You can click and drag
any retailer from that list to your project in the My Project
dock.
How to use your Shopping List
You can hit 'Print my shopping list' and print out all the items
from your project on the My Project page. You do need at least
one colour or one product in your project to print it out.
Printing arranges a shopping list for you and you simply have to
hit print at the top right hand corner.
Take it with you when you go into store as a handy guide and
reminder of what you need.
