One sentence describing your position:

I manage a team of chemists who develop new polymer binders for waterbased paints.

How did you come to work for Dulux?

I was a research chemist at the University of Sydney and had contact with Dulux personnel via a joint project.

What do you enjoy the most about the jobs you've had?

Interacting with a wide range of great people and being able to develop new products based on ideas that I have had.

What have been your career highlights?

Seeing my laboratory-developed formulations be produced on a large scale at industrial sites and moving into my present role in which I manage a small team.

What training have you done at Dulux?

The training I've done has been very much through doing the job and by learning from others, such as from my manager and colleagues. I've also undertaken reading in areas where I needed to improve my knowledge.

Would you recommend Dulux as an employer to your friends and if so why?

I certainly would, as it is a very friendly, dynamic and challenging environment to work in. There is also a big emphasis on safety which I see as being very important.

What do you enjoy the most about the jobs you've had?

Very good working conditions, interesting variety of tasks and friendly people.

What have been your career highlights? 

Working with a wide variety of our products.  Being a member of the Emergency Response Team as well as my regular job.

What training have you done at Dulux?

Various computer software programs, colour assessment, harassment, driving, security, manual handling, eye, ear and foot safety, fire fighting, dangerous goods transport, etc.

Would you recommend Dulux as an employer to your friends and if so why?

Yes, definitely.  It is an interesting place with scope to succeed.
